LabTools v.2.1.2 Beta
LabTools is a program for the molecular biological lab. It was developed to
assist people by common calculations in the lab,
e.g. DNA ligation ratios, oligo annealing temperatures in a PCR reaction or unit conversions.
LabTools is my first programming project and it is still in the beta phase for testing.
Here are some screenshots:
Calculates the optimal annealing temperature of an oligo in a PCR
reaction according to various methods (Nearest Neighbour, Basic, GC%).
The program supports a batch mode, with which you can handle hundreds of oligos with one run.
The exact reaction conditions of common DNA Polymerases or entry of your own values
(oligo-, sodium-, potassium-, magnesium concentrations) makes the tool to a useful assistant for each PCR.
DNA Ligation Calculator
Calculation of the exact volumetric ratio between vector and insert in a
ligation reaction according to Cranenburgh et al. 2004.
The tool is taking into account the concentration of vector and insert,
as well as the total DNA volume.
Unit Converter for all common units, including
converting of nucleic acids (dsDNA, ssDNA, RNA, Oligo) into concentration (mM,
pmol, ng/µL) and molecule mass.
Calculate the mass which you have to weight out, depending from molar mass, volume and
morality of a compound.
New compounds can be added.
